Welcome to NYP Wireless LAN Configuration Guides
Our wireless network supports the following operating systems (OS):
- Microsoft Windows 10 & Above
- Mac OS 12 & Above
- iOS 13 and Above
- Android OS 10.0 and Above
If you are using any other OS, you can still connect to our wireless network. However, our Digital Solutions & Services Department is currently unable to help with problems or queries related to that OS due to end of support from various operating systems.
Enjoy a virus-free WLAN environment at NYP by being a responsible user and taking note of the following:
Dos and Don’ts
- Ensure you have up-to-date antivirus software installed on your laptop, with current DAT files for your notebooks and other wireless devices. They should also be fully patched, i.e. you have run the latest Windows Update and installed all critical patches.
- Do not share your account name and password with anyone.
- If you have upgraded from a different OS (e.g. from Windows 10 to Windows 11), remove your wireless profile and configure it again.
- Always update your Wireless Access password whenever you change your Windows log-in password
To learn more about our wireless network policy, click the Policy tab below.
Steps to Get Connected
Connecting to our Wireless LAN is easy – just follow these simple steps.
Step 1
You will need a wireless network card that is compliant with the 802.11a, 802.11g, 802.11n ,802.11ac and 802.11ax wireless specification. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for installing and configuring the card. Most of you should have done this already.
Step 2
For automated Staff/NYP-Student/NYP-Account Wi-Fi profile installation on Windows 10, download this zip file, unzip it and open the file inside. When prompted for the SSID, enter the network name you wish to join (NYP-Student, STAFF or NYP-Account).
For manual wireless configuration, please follow the guides below. *
