At Nanyang Polytechnic, we believe in the use of notebook computers as a learning and communication tool. Taking advantage of our campus-wide wireless network, you can bring your notebook computer to lectures, tutorials, for e-learning and doing projects.
The notebook computer will allow you to access your email, login to the e-learning portal, surf the internet for information, access library online databases, participate in online discussions and work on your homework assignments, anywhere and anytime on campus.
The use of mobile learning devices like a notebook computer is critical in today’s business environment and there's no better way to get a head start on these technologies than to use them whilst you are still in school.
You will find yourself spending a lot of your time on your notebook computer on campus and outside to work on your assessments, reports, prepare for presentations using MS PowerPoint and other software.
Therefore, we encourage you to buy a notebook computer to take advantage of these learning opportunities. Owning a notebook computer will equip you with mobility and freedom to choose where to learn and when to learn within the campus.

The recommended requirements for the laptop is as follows:
- Windows 11 and above
- Intel® Core i7 / AMD Ryzen 7 processor
- 64-bit processor
- 16 GB RAM or above
- 512 GB HDD
- Wireless adapter must minimally support IEEE 802.11 a/g/n standard
Student Notebook Roadshow Information:
- Venue: Nanyang Polytechnic, Block A Campus Centre Atrium
- Dates: 20–22 April 2026 (Monday–Wednesday)
- Time: 9.00 am – 6.00 pm
Each student is entitled to purchase ONE notebook only
Priority for notebook purchases will be given to 2026 Freshmen (Full-time & Poly Foundation Programme).
• IMPORTANT: Year 2, Year 3 and Full-Time CET students, as well as staff, should only purchase from May 2026 onwards*, as freshmen are given priority to secure a notebook first. Thank you for your understanding.
*If you require a notebook urgently for your studies (e.g. a faulty notebook), please contact the notebook suppliers directly via email first. Request will be subject to review and stock availability.
