As an educational institution, NYP is committed to ensuring a safe and supportive campus and environment where there is respect and dignity for everyone, and where our learners can thrive. We encourage and expect high standards of conduct from all in our community. All learners should conduct themselves in ways that promote a safe and respectful community and in compliance with Polytechnic Regulations and Singapore Laws. These expectations of responsible and appropriate behaviour are communicated via the Student Conduct and Discipline Regulations

Academic Integrity

We aim to provide a conducive environment for learners to pursue academic excellence and achieve their personal best. Learners are expected to take responsibility for their learning, and to uphold high standards of integrity and academic honesty at all times.

Respect for Self and Others

We expect all learners to be considerate and respect others, in consideration of their gender, race, religion, values and disabilities. They should all refrain from conduct that demeans, intimidates, threatens, harasses or injures any individual. These include bullying, fighting, making derogatory remarks, and sexual misconduct (e.g. sexual assault, outrage of modesty or committing a voyeuristic act) . For campus safety, we require all learners to be readily identifiable at all times and prohibit the use of any headgear which prevents this. Students are encouraged to dress appropriately to create a positive and professional impression while on campus or representing NYP in any off-campus activities, whether locally or overseas. Inappropriate attire, which includes clothing that is revealing, skimpy, or contains offensive words or images, may cause discomfort or offense to others.

Compliance with NYP Rules and Singapore Laws

Learners are expected to always observe and uphold NYP rules and regulations and the laws of Singapore. When learners undertake programmes or events representing NYP overseas, they are expected to also uphold the regulations and laws of the host country and/or respective partner institutions.
