Education and Career Guidance (ECG) is a holistic and experiential effort which helps you to make informed education and career decisions.
NYP provides a structured ECG Curriculum through modules Personal Career Strategy 1 and 2 where you can discover and decide on the career options related to your field of study. You will also be guided to plan, prepare and set your education and career goals as well as recognise the importance of lifelong learning and skills mastery in developing career resilience.
For those of you who require more dedicated support, ECG@Central provides individual or group ECG counselling or guidance relating to career or education choices. At ECG@Central, you will learn about your options, explore employment opportunities and find out which are the skills you will need to make a successful transition to the workplace.
Guidance and counselling sessions include self-discovery, exploration and action planning, using the following approaches:
Career Counselling
Trained ECG counsellors offer one-on-one or group counselling, using activities aimed at helping you understand your career values, interests, skills and strengths as well as develop a positive career outlook.
Career Resource
Get up-to-date career- and industry-related information from MySkillsFuture.sg and other relevant sources.
Career Preparation and Information
Find resources to help you with job applications and interviews, or browse through sample career portfolios.
Career/Job Advisory & Facilitation
Provide guidance in using job portals, review your resume/cover letter and improve on your interview techniques.
Resources for Further Education
Do you want to further your studies? Your NYP diploma will open doors for you both locally and overseas.
Many of our graduates have gone on to complete their degrees at universities that offer advanced standing and credit transfers for admission into their degree programmes.
